Team Guadalupe made it to Beaumont, TX. This week, we had 45 people, from two different parishes. (Also, to mention, there were two other groups at the retreat center) With our large group, we learned how to live and grow in community.
Besides rotating in the dining room and sharing limited bathrooms, we were able to bring compassion and take on each other’s crosses. Our group worked with Nehemiah’s Vision, a hurricane relief organization, this week. We worked mostly on hanging dry wall and painting trims for three homes affected by Hurricane Harvey. Also, one of our groups picked up debris from multiple sites all week.
Through our work and prayer, we felt like we were a part of this community in Texas. We got to work along side with the home owners and listen to their stories. In doing so, God showed us how to be one community in Him.
In Him,
John
