Housing

Housing in the Dominican Republic will be in missionary housing in San Pedro de Macoris at Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos Catholic children’s home and school run by the religious sisters, Hijas de la Madre de Dios. Bunk beds, towels, sheets and pillows are provided. Men, women, boys and girls will have separate sleeping areas. The Catholic Mission Trips, Inc., staff will sleep separately from the group at all times.

Meals

Meals will be provided starting Monday evening when you arrive, until you depart the following Saturday. The only meals that are not included are your free day meals. Breakfasts are in the morning, yes there is coffee! Lunches are at the work site, and dinners are always hot. Most meals consist of beans, rice, meat, and vegetables.

Work Projects

In the Dominican Republic, construction projects for Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos children’s school and locals in the surrounding villages.

Travel

Transportations is not included in cost. You will need to by your Airfare to the airport in the Dominican Republic. We will take care of transpiration from the airport to home base and home base to worksites.

Airport to fly into is:

  • Santo Domingo/ Las Americas International Airport (SDQ) – We will pick you up from airport
  • Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ)- We will pick you up from airport

Free Day Option

Each group has the option to use one of their days as a free day. Most groups plan on taking Friday as their free day. The first Catholic church in the western hemisphere is in Santo Domingo. Most groups visit downtown for a tour, have lunch, and spend the rest of the day at the beach. There will be a separate cost for where you would like to go for your free day.

Weather

Pray for good weather. If we get rain, it’s possible that the outdoor projects will be cancelled for the day. Catholic Mission Trips, Inc., will try to arrange both outdoor and indoor projects for each group.
