Mission

Mother Teresa opened her first rural mission in Jenkins, KY. This area in rural Appalachia is one of the most under-developed areas in the United States. Many families live in homes with no running water. With the decline of the coal mining industry many people have lost their jobs. Already an area with much suffering, the flooding in 2022 caused more damage to thousands in the area of Eastern Kentucky. In this area you will get a chance to meet the Missionaries of Charity, pray with the sisters, and serve the people they love.
