St. Anthony Catholic Church, Zuni

The Diocese of Gallup is the poorest diocese in the United States that primarily serves the Native American and Hispanic communities in New Mexico and Arizona. Most priests serve several parishes, due to the low number of priests in the diocese. Religious brothers and sisters, as well as lay faithful, and missionaries, are crucial to the evangelization work of the diocese. The diocesan mission office places our mission group based on current needs within the diocese, our group size, etc. We go where we are most needed and work closely with the community to serve in the way that will be most fruitful. CMT has been blessed to serve not only within the city of Gallup, but also in rural communities and Reservations throughout the diocese. Wherever we are sent by God, we encounter Christ and bring His love to the people we serve. Projects that we have undertaken in the past include renovations to homes, schools, churches, and convents, as well as meeting the ministerial needs of the diocese – VBS, food distribution, care of the elderly poor. We are often blessed with the opportunity to serve alongside the Little Sisters of the Poor, the Missionaries of Charity, or another religious order in the diocese. Are you ready to go where you are called and be Christ’s hands, feet, and heart?

Meals

Meals will be provided starting Monday evening when you arrive, until you depart the following Saturday. The only meals that are not included are your free day meals. Breakfasts are generally continental and we pack a sack lunch. Dinners are always hot.

Work Projects

Work projects in New Mexico are either serving on one of the Reservations or working with the Diocese of Gallup. We go where the need is the greatest. We have worked on the Zuni Reservation, St. Bonaventure Indian Mission, renovated convents and schools in diocese, and assisted the Little Sisters of the Poor in their care for the elderly poor.
