Hi, I’m Sarah Praetzel—a wife, a mother to two beautiful children in heaven, and someone striving each day to live out a deep love for Christ and His Church. I graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville in 2020 with a degree in Education. During my time there, I was part of the Handmaids women’s household, involved in music ministry, and worked on the event staff. Each of these experiences shaped my heart for ministry and prepared me for the work I do today.

After graduation, I was blessed with the opportunity to serve in the Church in a variety of roles, including as a youth minister and a Catholic school educator. No matter where I’ve served, I’ve always been guided by the importance of living out my faith with authenticity. I truly believe the most powerful way to evangelize is through example and personal testimony.

My call to missionary work began in high school, through youth group and leading retreats, and it deepened after a life-changing mission trip to Bethlehem Farm in West Virginia. That week of service, prayer, and community opened my eyes to what it means to be Christ’s hands and feet in the world. It planted the seed of a missionary heart that has continued to grow ever since.

Though I once thought I’d spend my whole life in education, God had other plans. After much discernment, countless hours of prayer in adoration, and the help of novenas, I felt a clear call to something more—to work with an authentically Catholic organization that lives and breathes the mission of the Gospel. That’s when God led me to Catholic Mission Trips, Inc. Like Mary, I said “yes” to His invitation, trusting in His plan even when I couldn’t see the full picture.

I’m so grateful to now be part of the CMT family, helping teens encounter Christ through service and faith-filled mission experiences.
