Young Adult & College Student Mission Week

June 13-June 19th 2021
Catholic Mission Trips, Inc. is pleased to invite all college students and young adults (18-30) to our weeklong mission trip.
Incredible service opportunity to serve the poor and rebuild homes for victims of Hurricane Harvey and the 2021 Texas Winter Storm. Experience the joy of christian community with fellow college men and women. The week includes missionary discipleship formation talks, personal prayer time, Daily Mass, praise and worship, the Liturgy of the Hours, Eucharistic Adoration, opportunities for the Sacrament of Confession and spiritual direction, recreation time and family meals.
Mission week runs Sunday June 13, 2021 at 6PM until Saturday June 19, 2021 at 11AM.
Housing
Housing in Houston will be at a local volunteer center. Participants should plan on bringing sleeping bags or twin size sheets. Air mattresses are welcome. Guys and girls will have separate sleeping areas. The Catholic Mission Trips, Inc., staff will sleep separately from the group at all times.
Meals
Meals will be provided starting Sunday evening when you arrive, until you depart the following Saturday. The only meals that are not included are your free day meals. Breakfasts are generally continental and we pack a sack lunch. Dinners are always hot.
Work Projects
In Houston, Monday -Thursday we are responding to the needs of families following Hurricane Harvey and the recent Texas Winter Storm of 2021. Recovery efforts are ongoing – rebuilding projects could include gutting, mold remediation, insulation, hanging sheetrock, flooring, siding, painting, building wheelchair ramps etc. Depending on COVID-19 restrictions, we will participate in serving at a homeless center, helping at a food distribution center
Recreation Day
Friday. Most groups plan on taking Friday as their free day.
Weather
Pray for good weather. If we get rain, it’s possible that the outdoor projects will be cancelled for the day. Catholic Mission Trips, Inc., will try to arrange both outdoor and indoor projects for each group.
Cost
$375 per person. Fundraising is encouraged with support raising coaching.
2 week negative COVID Test, pre-travel precautions, and mask required.
